Celebrating HERstorie: Rolanda Watts, an OG Trailblazer in TV

If you're a millennial, you might remember Rolanda Watts as Ray's blunt girlfriend on Sister Sister, but let's dive into why she's truly that girl.
Hailing from Winston Salem, NC, Rolanda graduated Magna Cum Laude from Spelman College and earned a graduate degree from Columbia before making her mark in journalism. From 1994 to 1997, she hosted her very own talk show, "The Rolonda Watts Show," where she fearlessly tackled a range of topics, from questioning the impact of new artist Lil Kim on children to exploring the question, "Where are all the black men?" In 1997, she made the courageous decision to end her show, steering away from sensationalized directions akin to Jerry Springer and Maury's baby daddy drama.
Rolanda then took on the role of on-camera host for "The Judge Joe Brown Show" until its conclusion in 2013, showcasing her versatility in the television landscape. Currently, she hosts "Divorce Court," adding another feather to her cap of accomplishments. Rolanda has graced screens across TV, lent her voice to beloved shows and movies, tried her hand at stand-up comedy, and currently hosts her podcast and YouTube show.
We might not know how Ms. Watts feels about being called a "Bad Bitch," but one thing is certain—she's an absolute force, getting things done while maintaining her integrity. An OG in the TV world, Rolanda Watts deserves to be celebrated for her enduring contributions.
Thank you for your life, Ms. Watts. We appreciate and love you!
